Revision Hints
The following hints and tips might also help you as you prepare for your examination.
When reviewing each topic area, try to ensure that you have covered the following:
- Definitions -What are the key words?
- Theories -What theories have been suggested?
- Links with practical -How can you use your theoretical knowledge if placed in a sporting or PE situation?
THIS IS VITAL!!
- Also -Can you see where different topic areas overlap?
Examination Technique and Hints
- Choose questions carefully
(can you answer the ‘big mark’ [6-10 marks] question?)
- If sporting examples are asked for, give them!!
- Write out a few notes before you answer, and cross them out when you have finished your answer. Identify keywords/phrases in the question (normally in italics/bold to help you!)
- Try not to leave blank spaces – have a guess!
(The process of assessment is a POSITIVE one not NEGATIVE, which means that you cannot lose marks.
There is only a chance of scoring if you have actually written something!)
- Marks allocated indicates the amount of different points you need to make.
(Cover yourself by putting a couple extra ones when you are unsure.
Don’t spend too much time over low mark questions!)
- Read through your answers if you have spare time available at the end.
(Pay careful attention to your SPAG – Spelling, Punctuation, And Grammar)
- Write clearly and concisely. (Examiners know if you are trying to fool them and waffle just takes more of your important time.)
